Data stored by the app
CostNota may store project and customer names, contract values, cost budgets, purchases, refunds, categories, item details, receipt images, recognized receipt text, work progress, extra-work approvals, and app-lock preferences.
How data is processed
CostNota does not require an account. The native app does not send contractor records to developer-operated servers. Receipt recognition uses Apple on-device frameworks. Apple device backups may include app data according to the user's iCloud and device settings.
Export and sharing
Data leaves CostNota only when the user chooses to export or share it, including bilingual confirmation PDFs, weekly reports, and complete backup files. Complete backups are encrypted with a user-selected password. CostNota cannot recover a forgotten backup password.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The native app does not include third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, or analytics SDKs. This public website may use privacy-first aggregate page measurement that does not collect personal data.
Purchases
Optional auto-renewable subscriptions are processed by Apple. CostNota uses StoreKit to display plans and determine whether a Pro entitlement is active. The developer does not receive or store full payment-card details.
Data deletion
Users can edit or delete records inside the app. Deleting a job also deletes its associated costs, extra-work records, and locally saved receipt images. Deleting the app removes its local container, subject to device backups or exported files retained by the user.
